Vision
To support the open-source digital tools ecosystem and promote industry-education collaboration in creative fields, CGGE and Krystal Institute present the 3rd 3D Creative Talent Showcase Competition, this year named the Origin CG International Creativity Competition.
"The cube is the purest creative starting point. Whether building characters and worlds from cubes or exploring style and rhythm through cubic forms, simple geometry holds infinite possibilities."
This competition uses "Blender + AIGC creation" to allow participants to:
Generate a video with AI tools to tell a story
Explore the new model of "AI-powered art education"

How to Create Your Work?
Story Concept
Start with a simple block-themed story, character, or transformation.
Storyboard
Break down the story into key shots and camera angles.
Blender Scene
Create or arrange 3D scenes, characters, props, lighting, and camera angles.
AI Video Generation
Use Blender rendered images as references to generate dynamic clips using AI video tools.
Editing and Submission
Cut the clips into 30–60 second videos and submit Blender files, images, the final video, a story outline, AI tools, and prompts.

When submitting entries on the online platform, each category must upload a compressed file and fill in the form with the creative concept, story outline, AI tools used, and key prompts.
The compressed file should contain three types of files: the Blender scene file, rendered images, and the final video. For the relevant formats, please refer: Submission Specifications.

Main Awards
Gold, Silver & Bronze Awards
Both the School Group and the Creative Group will have Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, with one award for each category. Each award will be granted based on the winning work. If the winning work is submitted by a team, the cash prize, trophy, showcase opportunities and part of the creator kit benefits will be granted on a team basis. Each officially registered team member will receive an individual certificate and designated benefits.
Cash prizes are officially announced and distributed based on Hong Kong dollars (HKD). Other currency amounts, including USD, CNY and EUR, are for reference only. The actual amount shall be subject to the organizer’s final announcement or distribution arrangement.

Finalist
Finalist Works, 15 places
Finalists will receive a digital finalist certificate, a digital finalist badge and an official website showcase opportunity. Selected finalist works may also be featured on the organizer’s social media channels, educational activities or online portfolio collections.

Notes
- The above award contents, showcase opportunities and creator kits will be finalized by the organizer according to actual arrangements.
- To ensure fair participation opportunities for global participants, some physical prizes, digital credits, learning credits, study tour opportunities or creative studio visit opportunities may be replaced with equivalent digital resources or other alternative arrangements, depending on the winner’s location, age, logistics conditions and event arrangements.
- For local, cross-border or international delivery, the relevant shipping fees, customs duties, clearance fees or other logistics costs may be borne by the winner. Cash prizes are calculated in Hong Kong dollars. The distribution method must comply with the laws, banking requirements and tax requirements of the winner’s location. The organizer reserves the right to adjust the award contents, distribution methods and showcase arrangements according to actual circumstances.
Important Notes
- Once registration is submitted, no cancellations, transfers, or participant substitutions will be allowed under any circumstances.
- If registration information is found to be false, submitted to the wrong group, or does not meet the age requirements, the organizers will disqualify the participant without prior notice.
- A participant cannot participate in both the student group and the open group simultaneously.
- Works previously awarded in other image competitions are not eligible to participate.
2025 Awards Ceremony Highlights
The 2025 awards ceremony was successfully held at the Blender Conference Shenzhen & International AI and Creativity Conference (BCON Shenzhen & IAICC), with awards presented in person by heavyweight guests from the international animation and open-source communities.
